| | Care & Maintenance Poly-Wood material is made of HDPE plastic Resin that has been purified and UV protected. It is generally cared for and cleaned with soap and warm water. For certain stains and additional cleaning power, a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color. Also, a popular method of cleaning is a high pressure power wash. (Not to exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases. The hardware used in the assembly and construction of our furniture is an 18-8 commercial grade stainless steel that has an additional “Xylan” protective and cosmetic coating. Although the quality of the hardware has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in salt air environments. A practical solution to these signs of corrosion would be to wash the product with soap and water. Use a soft bristle brush to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Also, use appliance touch up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware. Appliance touch up paint can be purchased at local hardware stores. Polywood Product Warranty Poly-Wood Inc. warranties to the original purchaser, that for a period of five (5) years for residential use (three (3) for commercial use) from the date of purchase against any defects in the manufacturing and workmanship of the furniture components. “Defects” is defined as imperfections that impair the original function of the product. This warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear effects on the furniture, which is received by regular use of the furniture. Neither does it cover damage due to unauthorized repairs or alterations, negligence, misuse or abuse, improper assembly and acts of God. This warranty does not apply to the hardware used to assemble the furniture. The original purchaser is responsible for providing Poly-Wood, Inc. with the proper documentation needed to determine a resourceful solution to the defect. Possible solutions are replacement or repair of defective furniture, replacement or repair of defective component or authorization to have product repaired by a third party. The proper documentation requires providing the proof of purchase with the original receipt and providing Poly-Wood, Inc. with a written explanation of how the defect occurred. Once the proper documentation has been received and evaluated, the consumer will be notified of the solution to the defect. About Polywood
Poly~wood, Inc. was founded in Indiana as a "garage
start-up" in 1990 by partners Mark Phillabaum and Doug Rassi. In
1993 the Trade Wind Rocker, their first trade show entry, won the
Lillian B. Winchester award at the International Casual Furniture
Market. Since then, they have expanded their line to cover eighty
designs and eight colors. This growth led to the 2005 "Merchandise
Excellence" award as well as the production of chair number one
million.
When people see
Poly~wood furniture for the first time, they often ask, "What kind
of wood id this?" What distinguishes them - in addition to their
style and comfort - is that they do not use wood in their product
at all, but a "high performance" lumber substitute. It has been
proven far superior to natural wood in resisting the effects of
weather. They manufacture and engineer Poly~wood from polyresins,
recycled plastics, and HDPE (High-density polyethylene); then craft
it to look and feel like wood.
The are positivelyaffecting the environment by using
recycled plastic once destined for landfills. Their classic and
cutting edge designs require minimal maintenance; and the solid,
heavy duty, quality construction in all weather conditions allows
them to say:
It's Poly~wood.
Sit back, Relax,
Forget about it.
